Murata Releases Component Library for Nexxim, Targeting High-Performance RF and Multi-Gigabit PCB Designs; Device Models for

PITTSBURGH -- Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Ansoft Corporation (NASDAQ:ANST) have released a
new device library for Ansoft's Nexxim based on Murata's discrete Capacitor/Coil Inductor products. Engineers designing electronic equipment, such as Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), car navigation systems, and cellular base stations, can now incorporate the accurate electrical responses and mechanical layout features for these high-performance parts within their large-scale PCB analysis.

"Murata is excited to offer a component library, which takes advantage of Ansoft's latest innovations for high-performance RF and PCB design," said Mr. Yoshihiko Ashida, Section Manager, Technical Management Department at Murata. "The library, which currently contains multi-layer ceramic chip capacitors and chip inductors, provides excellent diversity and design flexibility. Providing a library for Nexxim will ensure that our current and future customers will have the necessary elements to develop the next generation of ultra-miniature telecommunication products with assured accuracy."

The device library contains proprietary equivalent simulation models of Murata's discrete components.

938 Murata monolithic ceramic chip capacitors

265 Murata chip coil inductors

Murata components, recognized as the most reliable in the industry, can be used within Nexxim as equivalent circuit models.

Developed by Murata, these models are based on extraction of the parasitic elements and couplings and have been verified to

converge under all tested simulation technologies.

The Murata library is available free from Murata's Web site (www.murata.com/designlib/ansoft) and is easily downloaded and

configured for use in Nexxim. This site provides Nexxim users with the ability to search for components by size, name,

performance data or other specifications. Murata will maintain model support and upgrades, while Ansoft will address all

customer support for Nexxim.

OMRON Introduces CX-Programmer PLC Programming Software

Tokyo, Japan, Jan 14, 2005 - (JCN Newswire) - OMRON (TSE: 6645) has introduced a new version of its universal PLC programming software, adding powerful new features, whilst maintaining the ease of use for which the company's software is renowned. Suitable for programming the full range of Omron PLCs, version 5 of CX-Programmer incorporates a comprehensive library of function blocks for even faster, easier programming, and builds in support for additional languages, such as Structured Text, in addition to standard Ladder.

Pre-developed and Pre-tested, function blocks allow you to increase your machine flexibility whilst significantly reducing PLC programming time. By providing simple drag-and-drop programming, these blocks make it easy to add complex functionality to a machine without incurring any programming overhead, and without the associated testing time. Pre-developed functions including monitoring of network connections, monitoring the status of sensors on remote I/O, setting and operating motion control axes, and setting and operating Omron smart sensors, safety controllers and temperature controllers. And Omron is continually expanding this library of function blocks.

Features such as the function blocks and the ability to use multiple programming languages make CX-Programmer one of the most intuitive PLC programming packages available. Even users with minimal PLC programming experience can begin to build powerful projects and applications right from the word go.

CX-Programmer is suitable for use with the full range of Omron PLCs, including the very latest CS1 and CJ1 CPUs, and offers backwards compatibility with previous Omron software packages, protecting investment in legacy systems.
