TXP-TEXAS PROTOTYPES, INC. Named a Supply & Design Chain Champion by "Electronics Supply & Manufacturing'' Magazine

RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2005--TXP-Texas Prototypes, Inc., global provider of prototyping electronics manufacturing services for original equipment and contract manufacturers, announced it has been named a 2004 Supply & Design Chain Champion by "Electronics Supply & Manufacturing" magazine. According to Editor-in-Chief Bruce Rayner of "Electronics Supply & Manufacturing," "Texas Prototypes Inc was selected as a 2004 Supply & Design Chain Champion for its contribution to bridging the gulf between design engineering and manufacturing. TXP has developed and refined processes that enable OEMs and contract manufacturers to more cost-effectively manage the handoff from design to production."

Five companies were selected as 2004 Supply & Design Chain Champions: Cisco, EMC, NEC, Sparton, and Texas Prototypes. The winners were nominated by the readers and selected as "champions" by the editors of "Electronics Supply & Manufacturing." "They are labeled champions because they are all innovators and are out in front of the curve with their supply and design chain practices," stated Bruce Rayner. "The winners share a few important attributes. They are not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom, they are decisive, and they understand that being innovative is a process, not an end point."

"We are very proud to have been selected for this award as it further validates our business model and its significance in the supply chain" said Michael C. Shores, President and CEO of TXP-Texas Prototypes, Inc who accepted the award. "As the editors of 'Electronics Supply & Manufacturing' noted, Texas Prototypes recognized an unfilled need in the design-to-manufacture process. We offer a highly valuable, differentiated solution. The TXP team originated as a prototyping section in the design department of a tier one EMS company where they learned what it takes to work with design engineers to qualify a board.

The engineers on the team are electrical engineers, plus they are also very senior manufacturing process engineers and have worked in a volume environment so they have practical experience with what factories need and desire. They can readily communicate with the OEM's engineers. They basically "debug" the board, get the processes and supply chain in place, then manage the transfer to the manufacturing facility, whether that of the OEM or an EMS company, anywhere in the world. It is exciting to see TXP's model recognized with this award."

"Electronics Supply & Manufacturing," a CMP publication, is a monthly magazine that serves the information needs of the global OEM and EMS management audience with insight on how to manage their business, supply base, supply chain, design chain, and manufacturing strategies.

Sirenza Microdevices Announces Production Milestone for Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) Synthesizer Modules

BROOMFIELD, Colo., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sirenza Microdevices, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMDI), a leading designer and an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certified supplier of high performance radio frequency (RF) components for the commercial communications and aerospace and defense (A&D) equipment markets, today announced that the company has shipped more than two million PLL modules from its state-of-the-art manufacturing and test facility in Broomfield, Colorado to date.

"This production milestone demonstrates the success Sirenza has achieved as our PLL module products have gained broad acceptance among major worldwide OEMs," said Charles Bland, Sirenza's chief operating officer. "This success has been driven by our excellent performance, superb quality and reliability and competitive pricing."

Sirenza first introduced its PLL modules in 1993, winning an award from Microwaves & RF as product of the year. Since then the company has expanded its product line to include over 1,500 PLL products, many of which are sold to major OEMs for the wireless infrastructure market.

"We have seen a need for the OEMs to consolidate their supplier base and to integrate RF components into more complex, cost-effective outsourced component products," stated Tim Schamberger, vice president and general manager of Sirenza's signal source division. "In response, we have leveraged our design and manufacturing expertise into best-in-class PLL module products used by global leaders in communication equipment applications," added Schamberger.

Sirenza's PLL modules offer customers a complete synthesizermodule integrating a voltage-controlled oscillator, PLL IC, loop filter components and buffer amplifiers, offering excellent price and performance in a very small form factor. In addition, these modules simplify the system-level design, reduce the parts count, minimize printed circuit board space, and reduce customer time-to-market.
