Printed Circuit Board and Schematic Design Compare Software for OrCAD, Allegro, Mentor and other EDA Tools Now Available in Switzerland

Logmatic AG Appointed as Representative for DOCTAR Design Compare Software that reports schematic, netlist and PCB design changes for Cadence, OrCAD, Mentor, Viewlogic and other EDA tools.

BEDFORD, NH (PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- cadalist-enterprises, LLC has announced the appointment of Logmatic AG of Niederrohrdorf, Switzerland to sell and support the DOCTAR design and netlist compare software in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

The DOCTAR software automates the process of checking changes to design schematics and layouts, which many companies still do manually or not at all. DOCTAR saves time and prevents unintended changes from slipping through to manufacturing, where changes are more expensive in terms of scrapped or reworked boards, fixture reworks, and missed schedules.

"Logmatics is a highly-respected EDA firm with great technical expertise and are well known within the Swiss design community." says Matt Van Wagner, Director of Sales and Marketing for cadalist-enterprises. "We are extremely pleased Logmatics will represent our tools to their important customers."

"Doctar will increase the productivity of our customers since unintended changes in their designs will be prevented. Doctar identifies potential problems and makes fixture rework unnecessary resulting in a shorter design cycle and higher quality of the design.” says Peter Wannenmacher, Vice President of marketing for Logmatic AG.

DOCTAR compares schematic, netlist or layout files, to report what's changed such as pin connectivity; components moved, renamed, rotated, added or deleted; tolerances, values, net-routed etch lengths and testpoints moved, added, deleted, or reprogrammed.

The DOCTAR change reports are used by schematic and layout engineers, test and manufacturing engineers, hardware project managers and ECO documentation specialists for design reviews, documentation, and validating changes made by outside layout service bureaus. DOCTAR is being used at hundreds of companies worldwide including Alcatel, Intel, Motorola, Cisco, Thales, Voltaire, and others.

DOCTAR works with design files from Allegro, Cadence, GenCAD, Mentor, Orcad, P-CAD, PADS, PowerPCB, and Viewlogic. Reports are generated in HTML and Excel formats with high-level summaries and detailed reporting to component/net/testpoint levels. DOCTAR software runs under Windows 2000/XP operating systems.

Fujitsu Develops Multi-layer PCB Capable of 5Gbps Transmission

Tokyo (JCN) - Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Fujitsu Interconnect Technologies Ltd., and Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702) have announced the joint development of new manufacturing technologies for large-sized, high-count multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) that enable support of 5Gigabits per second (5Gbps) high-speed transmission and 4000 pin high-density mounting (0.8mm pitch).

Fujitsu's new technologies succeed in improving manufacturing yields and significantly reducing production time for high-count multi-layer PCBs. The technologies were developed for use in such areas as next-generation, high-speed servers and telecommunication base station equipment, which demand fast transmission speeds and high-density mounting.

Fujitsu Interconnect Technologies is scheduled to start sample shipments of products utilizing Fujitsu's newly developed technologies from June 2004, with volume production slated for December 2004.

Fujitsu Interconnect Technologies anticipates sales of 2 billion yen in its fiscal year 2005 (April 2005 - March 2006).
